:shock: My ceylon has been bloated for the longest time. She used to look very full for a few days, then she'll go back in shape.

A few question 'cos I am pretty worried about her.
1. How long does a ceylon hold her eggs before she releases them?
2. Are there any other way a puffer can be bloated for so long? I am pretty sure it's not indigestion 'cos she is very lively and swims as fast, if not faster than the other two. She is also a better hunter and scavenger. Any scrap of food out of sight will eventually be found by her.

Oh yes, and "HI!!!!" to the moderators who remember me. :wink:

If she's the only fish in the tank you could try limiting how much food you stick in the tank. Then, if she's still bloated, maybe you can determine what the cause is, eggs or otherwise. I doubt she puffed air if she is swimming normally. What's your feeding schedule like?

Not much is known about the reproduction of Ceylons, so no one here can really tell you how long it would be until she lays eggs (if that's what's going on with her). All I can tell you is I believe my F8 just laid some eggs, and I noticed it was rather plump for almost a month before I saw anything.

If you do determine that she may be swelling with eggs- look for them and take pics if you find any! :)

She has got another 2 ceylons for company. I feed every other day or two. The other two puffers eat as much but her tummy doesn't go down. It looks kind of different from a full stomach.

How large is your F8 when she was carrying eggs? How do the eggs look like? I have seen my ceylon swell like this before but within a week or two, she is back in shape.

I'll keep an eye on the eggs, if any. :shock:

PP, I can't really tell if she pooed. My ceylons have rarely pooed when I am around. :paranoid: The only one to see poo is my husband when he does the water change.
