Teeth Question
Teeth Question
I have a Tetraodon Palembangens, and I was told that you need to feed them snails or other hard shelled foods. I have only be able to get him to eat shrimp with the skin still on it. Will this keep the teeth trimmed back enough. If not what should I do? Thanks

I do suspect my Palembang of eating snails, as the tank has few and I have to restock it from time to time (planted), but I have never intentionally fed them to the fish. The diet for me is mostly crustacean (live ghost shrimp QT'd and gutloaded or presoaked FD large krill) and some thawed silverdes. A few om my guppies also live there, and there is no population explosion either, so some are likely consumed.

You can actually keep other fish in the tank with yours? I can not leave any kind of fish in there with it. They will be gone in the morning. I also suspect that my too is eating snails. I have a planted tank, and every once and awhile I notice little snails all over the glass, but I do see the bigger snails every once in awhile in the morning before the lights turn on.

Yup, mine too. Eating snails and guppies (and tried to eat my silus - Grr!) but no sign of eating any frozen food. 
He's getting nothing until Saturday, at which time I'll try some shrimp again.

Mine is lazy, or should I say a bit plump? A pear rather than an apple? Perhaps a female w/eggs? PP would never let me live it down after my comments on her GSPs.
There are several juvenile dwarf neon rainbowfish there as well, but I doubt that the fish can catch them - they are too fast in the light (I can't catch them either) and they sleep at the surface - perhaps they "know" that there is a predator around. None has been eaten that i can tell anyway. Ghost shrimp and guppiesdon't seem to get the message, and/or frequent the wrong areas of the tank.
