DIY 140g from Garf plans

Has anyone ever tried the 140g plywood and glass tank plans from GARF? Or know someone who has? I've got the tools and the time. I just want to know how well it works.

I was thinking about using thicker glass so I could make the tank taller in order to make the tank 150g or 160g but I dont know if the wood has the necessary strength. I suppose I could beef it up with thicker plywood but it would start to get very heavy.

It would be Fahaka heaven with a 8'x2' footprint. But the 15" height is a little on the short side - it was originally designed as a LR grow out tank.
