Any & All Info on T Leiurus?

I've been calling every fish store in my county to find what puffers are available. The list of available puffers were DPs, F8s, GSPs and Modestus (Bronze Puffers.) The only one I was really considering out of these was a Fig8, but I was really wanting a FW, and besides, it's hard to find healthy specimens. ANYWAY. I found a store that says they get in "Twin Spotted Puffers." I only spoke to them over the phone, and judging by the description, it sounds like a T Leiurus. It has red eyes and a spot somewhere on it. (She couldn't tell me the latin name.) They're freshwater, and 6", which is about perfect for my 40g.

But, reliable info is hard to come by. Does anyone have ANY info on these puffers such as personality? Do they get along in pairs? Will it eat my poor 3" pleco?

Sounds like a target puff of some sort. If it is a target it is nearly grown at 6". Being >5" makes me think that it is most likely a T. Turgidus and if that is the case then it would probably try to kill anything that you wanted to live with it. My turgidus sometimes snaps his teeth at the glass and bites at me as I walk by the tank if that helps put it into perspective... That said they are one of the coolest puffers I have had the pleasure of owning.

Yes, one of my puffers I never trusted not to bite me. Dessimated a whole tank of fish for me to find out not to be trusted w/any fish either.

When I said 6", I was referring to the max size mentioned on the puffer list for Leiurus. The store said when they get them they're only about an inch long. Was that the only reason you said turgidus?

How will I be able to tell the difference between puffers of the target group when I get there?

Mostly depends on the markings, especially the color of the spot in the rear, on each side, near the tail.
