Why Do I Have Brown Weird Stuff sticked onto my Glass

i dont' know

but i have this brown spots on my window

and my gravel's got like brownish walrus on them

it's kinda werid

and it's growing everyday

iis it algei?

anyway can someone teach me how to get rid of it

i have a 10 Gallon Freshwater Tank for one BORING buttocks Dwarf Puffer that i want to get rid of but i won't do that

They are brown diatoms, sometimes referred to as brown algae. Appears in newer tanks but eventually goes away. Otos do a good job of cleaning them up if you can find any and keep them alive.

Thanks, he's my babylove.

It'll take more than a few days to go away but be patient and it will. You can wipe it off the glass and any decorations in the meantime. Just rub it with your fingers and it'll come right off.

and also WHY DOES MY DWARF PUFFER LIKES TO STICK HIM SELF TO THE HEATER? it's either always sticking it self next to the heater of the filter, it just makes me think UHHHHH you have alot more space, stop being a retard and swim around, or else i'll throw you in a 5 gallon tank

They have very individual personalities. Perhaps he's very shy. I have one like that, very shy and skittish and is always hiding. I have one that is more outgoing and explores a bit more. Is there enough decor in there to make him feel secure? Anything else in the tank with him? Are the water parameters good? When was the last time you tested the water? Did you fully cycle the tank before he went in and if so, how did you cycle the tank?

oh ya i test my water everyday everything is fine, and perfet, and i did the fishless cycling, so ya my water's perfect basically cause i test everday, and there's a lot of ecor for him to play with, but he's just like retarded , althoug now he's staring at me through the glass LOL so i guess he was a bit shy at first, since i've only had him for 5 days now

It takes longer than you would expect but they come around after a month or so. Just don't let his mood deter you from water changes. He'll even get used to those too.

My GSP attaches herself to the intake of the powerhead all the time. She can easily swim away ..... I guess she just likes the sensation or she's lazy and doesn't want to swim anymore and being attached to the powerhead keeps her stationary.

That reminds me, when I had my silus in the semi-aggressive community tank, he would very slowly move his way up the tube of the sponge filter in the corner until he got to where it ended and the bubbles come out, then he'd move very slowly into the bubbles and ride them to the top of the tank.

Then he'd go back down and do it again. Really funny. I think he's a bit braindead though. Last night I watched him in his tank and he was pacing up and down the glass in the same spot, banging his head into the thermometer hanging in the tank.

I had a dwarf African frog who used to stick himself spread eagle to the hob intake. He liked the way it flapped his tummy.

It's not going to go away in a few days. I had brown algae in one of my tanks for 6 months. I eventually bought a couple of oto's, and they cleaned it up almost overnight.

If I were you I would pick up a couple of oto's. Many people report they are compatible with dwarf puffers, and they are pretty inexpensive too. I think mine were $1.50/each.
