Irrubescos in 29 gal

Post by Dinsdale »

I really want to buy abc's 6 irrubescos (http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/vie ... php?t=4732)...

How long could I keep these guys in a 29 gallon? It just so happens I'm going to have a vacant 29 gal just in time for these irrubescos...but I really want to have them in a 75. Unfortunately, I won't be able to buy a new tank for a few months. Will it work okay if it's heavily filtered and heavily, and properly decorated (broken lines of sight, hiding spots, etc)...at least for awhile?

Thanks

A few months is a bit too long IMHO.

If you really want them and don't have a large enough tank to hold all of them today, you can purchase 25-30 gallon, food-safe plastic containers for a few bucks each and use them (with filtration and decor of course) to house some of the fish while you are waiting on the larger tank.

That's a good idea. I'm thinking about doing that. 29 definitely doesn't feel like enough room to me either.
