Tank decor for GSPs?

Post by CoreyK »

For the puffers that eventually require what is close to a full marine condition, what "theme" do most people go by when setting up a tank?
A typical freshwater setup (real/fake plants, driftwood etc.) or a marine setup (sand substrate, live rock etc.)? Will live rock even work in a brackish environment?
I am trying to figure out everything I would need to convert my freshwater tank into an awesome brackish environment for a GSP.
I was thinking a combination of both might be kind of cool.
Any input is appreciated,
Thanks!

LR doesn't survive in BW.

What I did with my GSP's is while they were in FW, I added base rock. As the salinity went up I kept the base rock/fake plants, until I hit 1.020, then I added LR and Macro's, and let some of the fake in. That way I wasn't ditching a tin of FW plants.

Wow. Now there's a puffer who should never get "bored". I love the colors, PP. Who makes/sells that fake coral?

Beautiful - thanks for sharing.

I got a lot of that from Big Al's (they don't seem to be selling it anymore...) & my LFS.
