Lots of fancy plecos are mean as heck. Common plecos don't care about anything usually but some are plain mean.

Oh, even though he's a common, he still looks cool and a good addition to my tank.

Yea I've seen one at my LFS in a 55g! It was all cramped up along with two unidentified sharks about 1' 6" each. I hate buying from them but I have no choice.

You could just not buy fish from them...

But yeah, once you buy them they will grow.

Besides Petco, they're the only LFS anywhere near me....I need there service. Plus, I still need to get my puffer and frozen and freeze dried foods for them so I'm helpless until I get my puffer problem settled and I can boycott their store. :)

BTW, didn't you previously have another fish in your 80g? (In your sig.) JW

Eh, nothing could have really been done to prevent it. I had feeders on there and it seems I need to have more above the tanks then they were. Sad to have them gone but...yeah...

I wouldn't unless you breed them yourself in good conditions. Store bought guppies are filled with diseases sometimes, and are bad for your puffs liver. Guppies usually seem to be kept in bad conditions so I wouldn't recommend feeding puffers guppies.

Puffers are not piscavores and its not a good idea to feed them guppies or other fish, even if you raise them yourself.
