Irrubesco or lorteti

I bought 2 puffers from my lfs and they wheir sold to me as lortetis,i've read that lortetis have no red tail,the ones i have ,have red tails and red dorsal fins,are they irrubescos?

you see,the ones i have ,have a red tail but the eyes look like the lortetis eyes(blue/green)!@#$!#@,confused.

Are we possibly seeing a mix-breed here? That'd be next to impossible but who knows

. Could irrubesco's have a red dorsal fin once in a while?

Red tail = irrubesco.

but it has the lortetis eyes(blue,green shade)

A lot of puffer's have that tint in their eyes...

My puffers have a red dorsal fin and red tail,is it for sure a irrubesco?
by the way,is it normal they're not very active fish?

From what I've heard no...they are supposed to be active and eager to explore. What's the water params? Also, get a pic of what your tank looks like, maybe he/she's just bored.

Mine arn't really active unless there is food involved. Most of the time the move in the back of the tank where shrimp and stuff hide.

I may want to add that i just got them 3 days ago.My aquarium is very well decorated with plants,they just sit under the plants for the most part of the day,but when i feed them they come out and eat.

My male tuck him self in leaves and my female has her spot in a driftwood cave. I think this species finds a spot and sticks to it. Or thats how it is in my tank atleast.

Oh, Tihsho, would personalities of different puffer's change this? Because I think I remember reading in the pufferlist that they are active but who knows

Personalities play a big part. These guys pay no attention to tank mates and havn't even pecked off my endlers fry in the tank... I think the most aggressive fish in the tank is my clown pleco. But I have lazy puffs.
