Bumblebee gobies in 5g?

Post by GSPdragon »

I'm thinking of setting up a small 5g brackish tank, could I house bumblebee gobies in one? How many?

Thanks!

I have heard that BB's do very poorly in small tank sizes.

actually don't know why I was thinking 5g last night when I have an empty 15g & lighted hood all cleaned and waiting for inspiration LOL I have a suitable filter running on my 29g community (as an extra to keep the bio-wheel bacteria alive) that I can move over along with gravel. Then I'd just slowly start raising the salinity to brackish.

So would a 15g work out?

15 gallon would be great! I'd look on stocking no more then 6-7 there at max if you don't plan on any other fish.

I was thinking 6 and a few olive nerite snails (which I'd LOVE to breed but I believe they require specilized food even in brackish conditions to mature) could be a fun project though ;) Now I just have to talk my hubby into letting me set up ANOTHER tank (or hope he doesn't venture into the basement and discover it "wow how did that get there?" hehee

Thats most of my tanks... But then again I have now compromised that for every tank setup an old one gets taken down.
