You know, pieces break off and get stuck in the filter. Had a puffer that like to explore. It was a recipie for disaster.

Sounds like a careless mistake on your part. Having plants in the aquaria means that you have to keep up with pruning.

I have watersprite in my snail tank, it completely covers the surface. I throw away handfulls every few weeks or so.

Dunno. Mine gets blown downwards a lot and gets sucked up into the filter intake.

I just never had luck with it, not that I mind. If it grew to its reputation, it would just be shading the rest of the plants I actually want to grow, anyway.

I throw away clippings of my H. polysperma every couple weeks. It's a shame. I want to set up another tank, just to grow out clippings, maybe give them away or something. Seems such a waste just to toss them and watch them wilt in my garbage can.

I have a spare 10 gallon that I tried to culture snails in and failed (unidentified problem, likely some sort of heavy metal from their reaction). I just need a hood and canopy, and I'm set.

Maybe the plants might absorb whatever killed off the snails in the tank. And then I could finally find a use for the darned thing, which I'm still procrastinating taking off of my entertainment centre (the filter's still running and everything).

I'm propogating java ferns like mad. They don't grow very large in my puffer tank, but they put out a lot of babies. I have about 10 tiny to small java ferns I'm itching to get rid of one of these days.

Yeah, my java fern started to sprout out baby shoots like mad. They seem to grow mostly out of dying leaves.

Not mine. They grow out of existing healthy leaves, but then the rhizome doesn't generate new leaves until I cut off the baby. It seems to "waste" the energy I want it to use to grow leaves out of the rhizome on the baby instead.

Once I remove the baby, they usually start generating new leaves.
