hello all. I am a proud new owners of 2 fahaka puffer fish due to circumstances that were not good and i was hopeing all you sweet people who love puffer fish would tell me all about fahakas and what they like or dont like. i have them in 2 seperate tank that are big enough and i feed them good food but i would like to know all there is to making them as happy as they are making me. thank you all.

Glad to hear they are in seperate tanks. My 11"er is happily living in his 125g tank. He loves crayfish, fiddler crabs, crickets, krill, scallops, shrimp & crab legs. How big are yours? I have 3 Aquaclear 500s & an Eheim 2217 & do at least 50% weekly water changes.

ty for the input and to answer your question they are about 2 in. one maybe closer to 3 but not quite. i just fell in love when i got them and i really want to make them just as happy as can be.do you know of there breeding ways ? again ty .

How big are their tanks? My ~17" fahaka is in a 210. He is really active in that tank size.

they each have a 125 gl tank and i will be upgrading very very soon as i hear they grow rather quickly and i want them in the new one soon so they dont get to used to these ones and it stresses them when i move them

Glad to hear your giving them larger enclosures. A 125 is the minimum that an adult fahaka would need, so the bigger the better

its funny to see them in such a big tank as they are so small but they do love it and they are so much fun. I never knew a fish could have a personality like these two have its amazing

Yep. Puffs are really an amazing species. They can physically show you their emotions through their colours. They can scare predators by inhaling water to enlarge their size. And last but not least they have human like personalities!

I'm so glad to hear how well you are housing your puffers from the get-go. Very refreshing!
As for info for fahakas, what would you like to know?
Mine tolerates NO tank mates, period. Did you cycle their tanks? You should also read through the library for great feeding and set-up suggestions. Are you going to plant their tanks?
