6 Figure 8's, Fresh Water, 60L,

Post by alex12571 »

I have 6 figure 8 puffers.

I've been told they can be aggressive but this hasnt been my experience.

They all look healthy with bright colours and white bellies,
I give them 3-4 cockels a day, I havent seen the need for salt, have made a lot of tank decor and plants to break their eyeline but they have all been getting along well.

Have had my 3 larger ones for many months, my 3 smaller have been in there about a month and a half.

I would in future get a big tank and fill it with even more but with what I have now there seems to be no problems

I recommend starting with ~60L and then adding ~40L for each additional one.

this is my 150 litre its the biggest tank I have.

The 60l + 40l for each additional comes to 260 for the 6 I have.

I think the 6 would be a little sparse in the 150 tank if I had a 260 I feel like I would want more than 6.

I read the puffer guide it was interesting, I've been to a few places to get puffers and I've never seen any of them use anything other than a net to scoop them out.
I couldnt imagine holding them to expel air or clip teeth, they get scared enough when I'm close up to the tank, hopefully I wont have to do that.
