Congo spotted puffer with frosty / cloudy eyes

Post by Tat2artist »

Hello guys I came here for advice.
this is my first post ………

I will briefly describe my issue.

I went to my local aquatic fish house and purchased a spotted Congo puffer. They told me it was one of two purchased by an old time customer. They brought one back (the one I have) because it was too aggressive (it hasn’t attacked anything other than my snails and the odd plant since I’ve had him). I purchased him quickly got him home to realise his eyes with cloudy, so I’ve treated the water twice with general tonic and still no changes

I went back to the place of purchase to find the other puffer fish had also been returned and sadly this one was in a very upsetting condition. My local fish place took it back into their care and back into the system that is shared throughout the shop :(

I am waiting for the other puffer to be healed up before purchasing that one aswel.

I need to know how to clear the eyes of the little spotted Congo puffer I have already. He is extremely happy always comes to say hello and sits ontop of his castle in the evening. His diet is consisted of snails and frozen blood worms with live black worms aswel. I will purchase some meal worms and try him on those also

I would like as much advice possible please guys I am sitting on egg shells sick with worry that I may wake up and he is dead :(

I have bleeding heart tetras two dwarf gouramis few plecos and corys. Ghost knife fish and a tyre track eel in the tank with it.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and advice

[welcome]
I would just start with Melafix for now. You can drop it directly on the puffer's eyes but be sure their mouth is not taken out of the water.
Cloudy eyes are usually from poor water conditions.

What are shops charging for these fish nowadays?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
