Amazon puffer front fins

Post by Lerimer1 »

Hello all, I’m new here to the forum, so hello to all!!

I have a pair of Amazon puffers and one of them is taking a plunge health wise. He’s not eating from what I can see. He used to glass surf a lot so I got a power jet now in the tank and he’ll spend all day in it which is good, but he’s tumbling all over the place because he’s not using his front fins at all. They also look reddish. Andy help would be greatly appreciated.

Water parameters.
PH- 7.2
KH- 80
CI2- 0
NO2- 0
NO3- 0
GH- 200
Water temp is set to 80 since it’s a community tank and I have clown loaches as well.

I am so sorry it took me so long to respond! I was locked out of the site.
How is he doing now?
From what I can see, he appears to have ich & a secondary bacterial infection. He also looks quite thin.
If he is still alive, I would add Ich-X to his tank & do Methelane blue baths for him.
