Completely lost!

Post by achanlatte »

Hello everyone, I need your expert help.

My wife just gave me yesterday a green spotted puffer.
It’s about 3 to 4 inches.
I put him on a 5 gallon tank while I decide what to do with him.

But I I have been reading that puffers are not fresh water fish (now i have a problem) long story short.

He’s right now with some snails and ghost shrimp has a food supply. But I don’t think he’s eating and his tummy turn black.

So these are my questions.

1. Are they or are they not fresh water fish?!
2. If not, which are the specifications for the water?
3. What about the black belly?!
4. Should I keep it with live food supply or fed him daily?
5. What is a realistic tank size?

I need your help because if it dies for whatever reason my wife will kill me.

Thank you in advance.

You must tell your wife that fish make TERRIBLE presents & please return the poor thing.
THEN you can start researching the fish if it is still what you want to keep.
