Hello,
I have 2 Leopard puffers coming in the mail this upcoming week and want to make sure I give them the best start. I have their tank and food figured out, but want to ensure theyre treated with whatever is needed.
The company I purchased them from already has them at a SG of 1.010 and confirmed they were not wild caught. Im wondering if I should treat their first feedings with API General Cure? Is this neccessary or is there something else that would be better?

Where are these purchased from? I guarantee you they are wild-caught! It is extremely difficult to breathe ease fish in captivity.
How are you cycling their tank? Are you sure about the specific gravity? Are they using Marine salt? I would ask to see a photo of their hydrometer with that level on it. I highly doubt that is what they are being kept in, especially since they said they're not wild caught. Something sounds fishy...

Im purchasing them from an aquatic store in Michigan. They are using reef salt and sent me a picture of their hydrometer but I use a refractometer. But will of course check the SG of the water theyre shipped in before I drip acclimate them. I have been cycling their tank having used special blend awhile ago and an ammonia source of snails for the bacteria to eat.
I didnt realize multiple threads was a problem so here is some of the questions I had from my last thread,
Nowhere in my town sells half shelled clams, so I was planning on buying fresh clams from the store and halfing them to freeze and have on hand every week for feeding to help with teeth trimming. I was wondering if this sounds like a good plan? I was also wondering if I could get shelled shrimp for them to rip apart for teeth care? If not is there any other foods reccomended to help with their teeth?
