Refractometers

Post by WilliamtheMan »

As i am starting a brackish tank i have decided to invest in a refractometer. My initial plan was to get a hydrometer but after looking at eBay i saw some decent prices. My question is does brand really matter? when purchasing a refractometer.
The two that i am looking at are:

First one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Refractometer-for ... dZViewItem

and this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MARINE-AQUARIUM-S ... dZViewItem

any suggestions would be much appreciated

William

They are the same thing appart from the first one being cheaper. I personally don't think that brand makes a difference.
Whats the point of a signature?!

RO or bottled water better, but tap would suffice in most instances...but that would depend on the quality of what comes outta your tap.
If your using tap in the tank..then it should be fine to use as your base line.

Mine came with a small bottle of ultra pure water for calibration. It's a Sybon brand.
