i would like some help I'm planing on a puffer species tank I'm getting a 35-40 gallon hex tank and was wondering what to do from there i am thinking about south American or dwarf planing on sand but was wondering if i could use playground sand instead of this other stuff i found i know about caves and breaking the line of sight with plants and what not and what should i feed them so i don't have to trim there beaks (I've read some convicting things) if i could get some help that would help me allot thanks in advance

Playground sand is ok to use. IME you have to wash it a lot though before you put it in your tank.

Feeding will require: snails, mysis (full of nutrients), blackworms, blood worms, brine (only on occasions no real nutritional value), and krill

OK and one more thing if i where to put this really lazy rubber eel in my thank it would be killed couse it just sits there and if you bother it it zips off to hide

Are you sure its a true freshwater eel? Most eels live in BW or SW, and or FW for short periods of time.

The commonest "rubber eel" is really a caecelian, an amphibious herptile (some call them amphibians, some say they are reptiles but scaleless) and a very poor competitor for food. They are best in species tanks IMHO and not purely aquatic. They are real escape artists also.
