Identify my puffer

Hallo all, merry christmas to you all...

I am a water gardener.. I build pond for waterlily, and to support the water and 'view' i am also have some small fish to complete the ecosystem. Last month, my little sister married and move away, leaving me no choice, but to adopt her puffer. Based on references i found, i think they are fahaka puffer and they can grow big.. Which i didnt prefer to keep big fish because they usually mess up with my waterlily soil and make the water cloudy. So i leave them inside my pond bog, i separate the gravel with brick and place layer of jap mat and keep them in that moving water.

Almost a week i never feed them, my pond is full of red cherry shrimp and there are so many shrimp fry in the bog and i think they can feed on their own. My sister feed them with frozen bloodworm, but i am too lazy to buy it.
After reading and reading i realize that they can solve my problem with snail. And much to my surprise, they love snail so much. Feeding them snail everyday makes me adore them and start to think about introduce puffer into my pond to keep out the snail, but fahaka was to big. So i try to find another puffer suit for this job.

About 4 days ago i purchase 'dwarft puffer'. One of the seller say that fish can grow to 2 inch, while another say it just 1 inch. But i bought 10 of them because i see they were puffer and 'small' enough. 2 days on my pond i found 2 of them dies (one have a big yellow circle on its belly), and yesterday i found another floating again in my pond.
When i purchase them, i notice their tail fin were bitten, but i dint have choice because only 2 seller have them, and both seller fish share same condition.
I start to find out what the problem, but more and more i browsing, i start confuse about my puffer, is it green spot puffer, or malabar puffer ? Honestly my pond was freshwater and i didnt expect them to be green spot puffer

Is there someone can help me identify them?
Currently my pont consist of waterlily, guppy, aquatic plants like cabomba, parrot feather, rec cherry shrimp, balloon molly, discuss, and dragonfly nymph(i can get rid of them)

They are indeed green spotted puffers. Could not make out the big one from the pic
