1) Your water parameters - pH 7.5, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrates 30.
2) 400Gallons, only 1 mbu and 1 6" Frontasa
3) Feeding once or twice daily. Either 1pc prawn, 1 mussel or 1 oyster. Sometimes i skip a day.
4) Tank has been around and running for at least 3-4 years. Had a bichir fish which had similar eye symptoms in 1 eye years ago, while all other fishes in between were fine.
My mbu has got a white circular growth within his eyeball, probably within his Iris or pupil. The growth is circular and appears to be some sort of mini bubble inside his cornea.
Both eyes has this but its smaller on his left eye. He's partially blind now and keep bumping into things inside the aquarium. He appears to be light sensitive still and is visibly affected by switching the lights on and off.
I am suspecting internal parasites of some sort but i don't know whats wrong.
I've tried adding anti internal parasite meds, melafix and regular water changes but it isn't helping. The meds don't seem to have an effect since the growth is within his cornea.
He is however feeding very well and regularly. He can't really find his food so i have to dangle some oysters or prawns in front of him and when he smells it, it will eat it. He can't eat his crays anymore though and he is scared of them.
I have attached some pictures. I want to help him so bad.. i feel terrible for him. Please, any advise is greatly appreciated!!
