My Porky Puffed the other day without any reason.. is that normal.. he just swim around and Kabooom into a big ballon with all the spike pocking out.. then within 20sec...he just back to normal and swim around like there is nothing happen.. I go over the tank and put my finger near the glass and he follow it around like normal
Is it normal for Porky to Puff without any reason?? and Also is it normal for Porky to sleep on Coral.. my little puffy seem like to sleep on my Hammer, Frogspawn and Candy Cane. He just swim over and lay on top of the coral and take a nap all the time and making my coral closed up one of another.... Is that normal for Porcupine to do that?

Baby porcs practice fairly often. My 8" porc still practices once in a while. You can tell for sure it's just practice if they suddenly deflate when they see you and come swimming over to beg. When I switched to a one day off schedule on feeding my Porky puffed after his normal spitting routine didn't get my attention.

My little porc just around 1" so just a little bit large then the Clown fish.. he really eat a lot and Poop a lot.. he usually hide in the middle of the tank in the cave within the LR, with just hit head pop out from the opening of the cave..then he let a big Poop into the cave and quickly swim away and hide some else..then end up forcing the 2 Cleaners and 1 Peppermint shrimp quickly run from the cave..

Re: Porky Puffed
I don't know if it's normal but mine lays on any surface he can including tank fixtures and other fish as well as the few sad corals that live with him. Don't worry, the corals with mine are sorry due to insufficient lighting not from being puffer squashed. It is supposed to be a fish only tank, the corals came in on the live rock.BubblePUffer wrote:Also is it normal for Porky to sleep on Coral.. my little puffy seem like to sleep on my Hammer, Frogspawn and Candy Cane. my baby porc in a small tank right now and leaving in with the clown fish in a 50G..get rid off the 20g for something else.. it's just a temporary home for the baby Porch until the basement is done and he will be in a huge tank.. thinking about setting up a huge multi puffers tank with lot of room for the fish to exercise
