Well duh! Why didn't I think of that? Lol if I had to pick one puffer (without money/size restrictions) out of all of them to be my next, it would be a porky! :3

This is proving to be a very interesting poll with 15 votes at this point and no clear winner. The dragon is at the lead but not by much. It could change with just one vote....

So far out of the choices I have available to me I would put them in this order of desire
1. Hairy
2. Congo
3. Dragon (Tends to be shy from what Im reading, true?)

Now when I put cost into the mix it looks like:
1. Congo (About $50)
2. Dragon ($50, but includes shipping)
3. Hairy (Will end up almost $100 because of shipping)

No one has an Arrowhead by me at the moment but one that I do still like.

Oh didn't notice that part. Too bad, i LOVE my porc! Coolest pet ever. A Dragon puffer looks like it would be interesting, but dwarf puffers are adorable. Goodluck

Most puffers have highly seasonal availability in this area. The odd-balls are even more erratic around here.

I think I made my decision now.... the poll did not really help, or did it? Price really was not an issue, well maybe it was. I did pick the cutest, well maybe not that cute. Will post my final decision.... one day.

Did you guess which one I decided on?

Yep, hairy for the win.

It was not the one leading in the polls, but from what I saw in lots of online videos, it was the one for me. I got it ordered and paid for with the delivery scheduled on Thursday, May 29. It sounded like they had a few available so I asked for the 'hairiest' of the bunch. Will see what I end up with....

I was going to wait for the big photo reveal to tell you guys what I had decided, but I am excited and wanted to share.

FWTW I think they're incredibly cute looking, they have dear little beady eyes, and the hair is more like frayed frills. I love my little fuzzball. Good choice :D

All of the odd-ball puffers have their own appeal and highly varied appearances. None of these are common in shops in my area, but all are periodically available on importer's lists - which may or may not be 100% accurate in names used. What appeals to any individual among us may depend in part on what puffers any given hobbyist has seen or kept themselves. All have certain strong and weak points. If you have only kept the highly active puffers such as GSPs, F-8s, SAPs and the large to huge FW puffers, any on the list will provide a significant difference in looks and activity levels. IMHO, it is all pure personal choice. All of them have strong and weak points and all are quite different from the more commonly seen puffers.

I'm glad to have the option to keep many different species, personalities, sizes & shapes! I think Hairy might be next on my list, when I get the fish room set up (if we ever find a house... ).
