Scuds as food?

Post by jbrady33 »

Hi All!

Setting up my first Dwarf Puffer tank now - at least a month away from being fish ready (don't even have a source for the fish yet) but it will be heavily planted.

Not a total newbie, have a community tank and a shrimp tank, both heavily planted. Plan on feeding snails from these 2 tanks to my dwarf puffer once he/she arrives.

Here is my question - the shrimp tank has scuds, which I could easily 'seed' the new puffer tank with - IF dwarf puffers eat them and they are good for them. So, nuisance or tasty in-tank snack?

Thanks!
JB

Welcome. That's a good question, if they are parasite free they could be a good treat for a dp. Not certain though, someone with more info will chime in soon
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

So Scuds don't present any danger at all to Dwarf Puffers? (Didn't think they did, they are just little weird shrimps)

Anyone have any problems with them? Just want to be sure they will get eaten and not overrun the tank!
