You've got to figure out some way to get yourself test kits for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate, so see what is going on in that tank.

My guess is that tank is overcrowded & toxic. Especially with goldfish & carp in there. :( How big is their tank?
Is it possible to set up another tank for them or re-home all the other fish?
