Hi,
I've had DPs for a few years and have been a bit of nerd on these fish. Just wondering why my fish, only when being fed with live food, seems to shiimer and dart when it's feedig time. Some people say it's stress of water conditions but my fish gets 30% changes twice a week. There's nothing else in there except one or Planaria but that's it.
Is this fish just getting excited or stressed by my feeding her? The rest of the time she swims with great dexterity and ease.
Live food gets puffers blood boiling with excitement, if all else is in check don't worry. I do the same sort of thing if my favourite meal is put in front of me without me expecting it lol.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
There are many knowledgeable fish keepers on this forum willing to help and give great advice...The advice is free; What you choose to do with it gives it value.
Yes, thanks for that. Having a DP is a bit like a dog as she just begs for food. I try to hide the food to keep her hunting behaviour going but she's a smart cookie and knows my tricks.
For such a small thing she's smart as hell.
I guess the shimmy is kind of like a dog wagging it's tail.
Ya, my DP does it as well. I make him wait until I feed the other fish first, since he won't eat anything that's not live, I don't want the other fish to eat his so he gets fed after I put the other stuff in.
