Another fish with my puffer?

Post by trever22 »

Well, I understand for the most part this wouldn't work. I understand basically anything I put in my tank my hairy puffer would eat it. I just wanted to know if there was any other fish at all that I would be able to put in with him. I'm thinking a pleco would be nice to get just scared my little buddy would eat him. Any thoughts?

I realize I am bumping an old thread I am just wondering if it will 100% eat a pleco? I'm thinking what if I feed my puffer first and then while he is resting put the pleco in. If my puffer gets used to seeing him he probably wouldn't eat it right? Also I have a 29 gallon tank.

At the minimum, he'll bite the crap out of it's fins. I tried one with my miurus & all that was left in the morning was a pleco skull.

Don't risk it. Puffers are not community fish. Also, protein-starved plecos can harass puffers. Neither fish is compatible with other. Poor fish-keping both ways.
