I had one for a brief while.. Not very active. It's a lurker. Sits there just like a rock with 2 huge eyes... They do not burrow but do like to hide.

They are also one of the more interesting species imo. I would say their marking on the body is quite comparable to a butterfly wings.. If u can appreciate... And those eyes..

+1 to scpion's comments, also to purplecandle's and to Pufferpunk's. I had one for years. I hesitated to get into lurkers, as I was so into the hyperactive group, but I finally gave in. Despite it's inactivity, it quickly became a favorite. It was housed in a 40-long w/two bogwood caves and many plants. It spent more time atop the caves than inside them, and was only very rarely hard to spot.

These are gorgeous, bizarre fish with fascinating lifestyles. I doubt that I would be really happy with a Palembang's tank as my only aquarium, but even as one of only a few tanks, these are well worth having. They are certainly a highly exotic fish. They have excellent markings and appear frequently as if their back is broken - and they do have great eyes. There is a lot packed into those smallish bodies.
