What are good tank mates to keep with gsp i will be using a drip method to slowly raise sg

55 gallon using drip method to slowly raise sg to 1.005

Your GSP is gonna need much more salt than that. I'd wait until it's in SW, to determine tank mates. A tomato clown should work well.

Alot I've been reading says sg should be between 1.005 and 1.010 and he was in fw at fish store thus My reasoning for wanting to slowly raise sg until he is acclimated to the salt id say he's between 1.5 and 2 inches long

Full marine is better long term for your fish and your pocket. 1.005 would be way too low for this fish. 1.010 would likely be minimum
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
