hairy puffer hasnt eaten?

Post by armywife »

Just got a hairy puffer for 20$ on craiglist. Never owned one before only GSP and red eyed puffer... got her into a 55 gallon tank with sand and some hiding spots.. I never really see her. And I don't think she's eating.. the guy I bought her from said she was being fed goldfish and snails... so I threw 3 goldfish in there and one went missing the first nigjt. But since then nothing... what does she need to eat and why isn't she eating? What should I do?

[welcome]
Please read the 1st 3 articles: library/category/feeding/
I had a similar species (suvatti), who died after 6 weeks in my care. When I cut it open, it had a hard, yellow liver, due to being fed feeders for years. :(

Okay I should get the goldfish out right? They seem to be having the time of their lives.. I just hope she's okay its getting to the point where they swim right next to her and she dosnt care... and she hardly moves... AT ALL.. the most ive seen her move was the first day and that was until she found her "hiding spot" and after that nothing..

What are your water paramaters?

Also, look into garlic to stimulate appetite.

I suggest, kents garlic xtreme
