Camille died.
Hey guys. I regret to say that Camille died a couple of days ago, two days after my 7 year old chinchilla, in fact. There wasn't anything wrong with Camille, she seemed healthy as a clam the night before, then the next day she was gone. For about a year now her color seemed kind of faded, her blue spots turned white, yet she never acted sick or anything. Perhaps she was just old. My goby in the tank is doing fine and there was nothing wrong with the water.
Can't make up my mind whether or not I want to try another GSP, or another Fiji Orangetail like Camille - the LFS has one almost 5 inches long for sale. But I definitely want another puffer, of course.

Thats so awful how it happens so quick and unexpected. I offer my condolences.

Re: Camille died.
I had her for two years, and my buddy that I got her from had her for about 4, I think. Tobies don't live long like GSPs and Porkys, unfortunately.Arny wrote:Thats so sadhow old was she?

Re: Camille died.
I am so sorry, she sounded like an amazing wet pet. I would go for another Toby personally maybe find a different species instead of another orangetail to honor Camille but not replace her. (I am not suggesting you try)

Sorry. At least it was quick and you didn't have to make that complicated decision to put the fish down yourself after much suffering and sickness.

Too bad, may she rest in peace
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Sorry for your loss :/, I'm sure you gave her a happy, healthy life.

Re: Camille died.
I'll get another puffer, sure. Since my tank was down a fish I went ahead and moved it to my new house today. Just did get everything back up and running. Water is still super cloudy from everything being shuffled around but it'll go away. I have my bullet goby in a 10 gallon tank for the time being, but he should be ready to go back in the 40 gallon tomorrow. He isn't too happy right now. :\
I've really been thinking hard about that orangetail the LFS had. I wonder if they still have her? Her colors and eyes were bright and clear, and aside from being monster sized for a toby she was also probably one of the healthiest looking fish I've seen in a fish shop.

Re: Camille died.
Well this is nice... my girlfriend gets home from work yesterday and doesn't like one bit where the tank is at. She wanted to make a spare bedroom out of the room the tank is in and she wants to turn the tank around in the corner and put it up against the other wall. Maybe if I drain the water into buckets I can just walk the thing? It's on a wrought iron stand. Ugh. I have to admit I'm more than a little perturbed after all that work yesterday.

Did you run the tank placement past her?
