I did something bad

Post by Squaffy »

So, a few months ago, our neighbour went away for a week and asked me to feed her fish. It's about a 15G tank with a few Rasporas in there, loads of algae, crappy maintenance. I did a few water changes and got it looking good, but didn't tell her, she didn't even notice (she's 65yrs old).

Anyway, my snail tank goes through phases of high/low production, and I had the brainwave of plopping a handful of ramshorns in her tank on the sly.

Tonight I saw her walking the dog and she was complaining about being overrun with snails now and wondering how to get rid of them.

Tee hee 8)

So now Squaffy has 2 snail tanks

This made me laugh pretty good. Both parts.
There are many knowledgeable fish keepers on this forum willing to help and give great advice...The advice is free; What you choose to do with it gives it value.

I can't sleep now though, was just lying in bed, tutting and sighing at myself for doing something both morally and ethically wrong - been told to sod off and feel guilty somewhere else as it was keeping Wendy awake also

I was at a customer's house & was grooming her dog next to a very dirty 2g tank with an UG filter in it. There was a dwarf frog in there & I could barely see it. I gave it a nice cleaning but then I couldn't find the frog! I looked & looked & looked but no frog. I was horrified but figured it must've went down the drain. The customer was very upset--especially when she found it's body under the UG filter plate! :( She fired me for the next grooming but convinced her son who's frog it was, to let me come back.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

This story just reminds me of how many customers I have upset. I go in to sort their garden and end up lecturing them on fish care lol
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

omg! you killed a frog :badboy:

They taste like chicken. Tried some in Southern France a few years ago. Snails just taste like garlic rubber.

I stopped offering unwanted advice on other peoples tanks years ago, having provoked extreme responses on a few occasions. Even if you're right, many people just can't handle being told they're doing it wrong and take it as some personal insult, rather than my genuine hope to improve the conditions and welfare of their fish
