We have some ram shorn snails outside in two huge pots but the pots are so filled with algae I cannot see how many snails are actually in their. I wouldn't assume a lot. I tried breeding them before with horrible luck.
Is their a way I can breed them indoors in a 5gal bucket with no filter and no light? I don't have money for algae wafers so I plan on feeding vegetables instead.

Yeah, you can breed them indoors, I would recommend a 10 gallon tank though. Here is a snail breeding article.

Veggies are a great snail food. Yup breed inside and change lots of water as they produce so much waste
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Re: How to breed snails?
last time i did this was in a 10gal tank worked great but after a while i stopped changing the water as this tank was infested with hair algae i didn't know if it needed changing or if it was just green from the algae. few months later when i finally cleaned it the water smelled so bad.
I will try this again sadly i don't have my 10gal i am currently using it to breed worms for gardening. I will try with a 5gal bucket though and do weekly changes hopefully i can get a lot of snails

Re: How to breed snails?
In order to breed snails there is need of placing soil on the bottom of the snails' habitat. It should be at least two inches deep, not too heavy or dry with almost 30 percent organic material. Than put the two snails in the habitat and wait for signs of mating rituals and copulation. Keep an eye on the snail eggs hatch 10-30 days after laying. This will be safe breeding.
