Wild Crickets

Post by 1bamafan »

Can you feed puffers cricket from the wild. I live in the country and I can find an abundance of crickets. Can you feed these to puffers? I know that cricket are a part of their diets but can you give them wild ones? Just a question.

The problem with wild foods is that you never really know if they have been exposed to pesticides or other chemicals that will hurt your puffs.

Crickets are pretty easy to breed if you have the time and space to set up a breeding container. Google should provide lots of how-tos. You could even use wild cought crickets to start breeding.
