Re: Looking for an ID
I'm no expert but just from comparing pictures it looks closest to a Starry (Arothron stellatus) to me.
I'm hoping I'm wrong due to the LARGE size these guys reach.

No it was donated to my lfs. This guy has a crazy personality. He/She has gotten me interested in puffers, but definitely not this exact species..haha 47" is ridiculous. Its currently housed in a 2k gallon tank with some type of eel, two sharks, and the orange fella in the pic. (my marine knowledge is almost non existent)*GSP*Fan* wrote:OP, he/she is a lovely looking puffer. Yours?

Wow. Thats a large tank, certainly needed for a puffer that can reach 3ft+. Bet thats nice to look at, I find myself staring at mine and its just a 60g.MPG wrote:No it was donated to my lfs. My marine knowledge isn't the best either, I just started my Marine tank about 8 months or so ago after getting into puffers. I think that orange fella is some sort of squirrel fish. I've browsed through every category on many sites of marine fish and the eyes are what make me say squirrel fish.

Beautiful Puffer
