You are not running a brackish water tank. You have a salted FW tank. That is not suitable for brackish water fish.

sorry PP misread your ref..

He can tolerate FW but is better moved to Brackish... We have kept them temporarily with Fig8's but not a good long term plan

we must keep lucking out then...our's are as keen to pass on good info as to use our knowledge to help them aid thier other customers. When we bought our dog-face, the store owner's mother told us that she was disapointed that we had bought her favourite fish in the shop and told us of all his foibles including his favourite food.
The store owner bought her a replacement in his next order....

ITA..

we've avoided the large box-chain stores and gone for the smaller mom&pop stores and the smaller local chains since both types are more amenable to the one-off orders of specialist fish.

Part of our approach is to cultivate intereast with the store owners and/or the person who orders the fish. we also appraicate it's difficult to keep a lot(20+) fahakas in a store sized tank and have advised accordingly and try to build rapport on an educated basis on fish-keeping in general and in the specifics of a set of species. Talking to one of our guys, we found he had to order through Singapore agents 20 of one fish or 45 of another to get his quota. When he finally arranged a group order which was then split between several shops, we broadcast the availbity though our social networks, Criagslist, kijij etc to ensure that these fish were known to available locally to those people who had expressed an intereast.

With the dog-face, I went to see the shop, travelling over 90 mins though Montreal to go and drool every week for 4 weeks ....ermmmm.. to check that it was healthy (we were also setting up the reef tank at the time)...
