difference between baby mbu n baby fahaka

Post by sw10mm »

So went to pick up my baby fahaka from the lfs but they were out... after finding one the kid said 49$ well with my trade in (male jag and male red devil) the total came to 10$ as they were bagging it up he said it doesn't look like a fahaka cuz the pattern on the front of tthe body was more circles and less straight lines and we compaired it to their 8 inch mbuu and it looked like it but smaller... the thing that gets me is on the phone yesterday the price was 29.... I wonder if I got a 10$ mbu how can I tell when its like 3 inches? Ill try n post pictures later

Sounds like you got a mbu. Mbu has circular pattern fahaka has stripes/bands. I would return it for store credit until a fahaka turns up
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Same sort of shape and patterns are mottled when young, so if you are not terribly familiar with them you could possibly mistake them. You need to resize the pic to a smaller file size to upload

Fahaks and Mbu puffers look completely different from one another. I baby Mbu looks just like an adult. Very little variation as they mature. A fahaka has Verticle stripes running the length of its body and the Mbu has more of a spot pattern.
