how to get your puffer to eat snails and other question.

Post by justinlovewithu »

My Dfp will not eat snails! I have offered them but the lfs that we got him from had him on the wrong diet so hes fussy any way. Got any ideas to help him eat these? His teeth are quite large, hes eating krill, shrimp (shell on) blood worms ect.
My other question is, Can these fish see them self's? Mufassa does well swims all over but when he gets to the brighter side of the tank he sees him self so I think, and hes trying to bite the glass or him self.

I just wanted you to know that with time and lots of on looking at scar and mufassa they have both come around so well, I just love these guys thank you all for your help with both tank set ups I couldn't have done it with out this forum!!!!

I have been bit several times by my puffers. As many here know, my 17" Fahaka took a nasty chunk out of me a while back. Now I always wear thick shoulder-length gloves :).

Tomato and Ephippium Clowns are nasty beasts in pairs. I had to wear heavy drybox gloves to work in those tanks. Otherwise I looked like I been well chewed and could not work for days.

You can try crushing it, or attaching them to a piece of string and bouncing them along. Garlic may also work.
