I bought a Kessil 350A light! Probably the most expensive light there is, and $399. Yikes! It arrived today and looks spectacular! The corals have incredible colors and everything just pops! My husband even agreed, saying you might as well get something that over time pays for itself, without having to purchase new bulbs every 9-12 months, lower cost to run etc.

I love this light!

Gwen

Okay, I stand corrected. It's not the most expensive light, but apparently one of the best. It's expensive to me :D I can't believe my husband agreed to have me go for it. LOL!! What's money anyways, but to spend.

Be careful--if this light is much stronger than what you had on there, you must acclimate the corals to it by either shading the bulbs or raising them up much higher from the tank. Otherwise, the corals may bleach.

Your GSP may hide alot if the light is too strong as most puffers are sensitive to lights.

I am about to splurge myself, though on either a Pacific Sun Metis Hyperion 3x150W or Maxspect Mazarra P setup. Those Kessils definitely seem like the most expensive considering it's a single LED from the look of it :o.

In any case, please post a before and after pic :D

I hear a lot of good things about them, but I haven't seen any irl. Local stores don't carry them.

Below are some pictures. One from above the water, looking into tank, and the other of the light. I bought it from Marine Depot. The "goose neck" attachment is another $34. It's a great light that reaches all the way to the bottom. You can adjust the blue and white light amount you want.

I love the direct light effect... it keeps a couple shadows and makes it look very natural. I felt as if we were looking at a coast off some reef
