I am going to start changing my gsp tank over to brackish. I am looking at the refractometers on ebay and amazon because they are much cheaper! Anyway is there anyone that will recommend a specific brand or model number? Any that I should stay away from?
I do have the hygrometer, but quickly learned that it wont go low enough to raise the salinity by .002 sg per week so at this point it is basically useless!
Thank you!

Re: Refractometer?
Hydrometers are often not accurate either. Can highly recommend a refrectometer. I'll check what brand I have when I am at the aquarium in a bit, currently on my phone
.

Thats the one I have. I would recommend buying one at a LFS though, so you can test it there. The hydrometer I had was more expensive and may have been accurate at time of purchase but when I bought my refractometer the hydrometer turned out to off by 0.005.

With any refractometer, you should also use calibration solution to calibrate it correctly.

Re: Refractometer?
I got mine on Ebay for $25 from Oregon. I can't find a model number on it, but from looking at them, they all look pretty much the same. It shipped from a company called Optifactory, in Beavercreek. The shipping was either free or very cheap. They had about 10 of them on ebay at the time, and this was about 2-3 weeks ago. Good luck!

Re: Refractometer?
The only refractometer I bought was from bulkreefsupply. They had a lot of good reviews upon google search when I bought it.
