Bottom Feeders in a BW-SW

I plan on changing my freshwater to BW soon for my GSP, I know there are not many Brackish water fish, but I was wondering for bottom cleaners, Whats available for a SW setup. I know stuff like Coral Banded Shrimp are out of the question. Is there anything similar to a corydora or catfish that won't get too big like a pleco but will not be bothered by/bothering my GSP? I just like to plan ahead so I can know where to buy one around me or if I have to travel to find something.

None of the fish you have mentioned, will do well with any sort of salt. There are no BW bottom fish that will follow your GSPs into SW. You'll have to do your own maid service.

You will have to invest in a expendable clean up crew. (ghost shrimp, hermit crabs, and snails) They will eventually wind up as a secondary food source for the puffer.

I didnt mean for brackish water, I like to plan ahead so I was asking about sw ones.

I'm in the same boat. So many things are out because of the GSP. I hear turbo snails do a good job, but will likely be eaten by a GSP. I'm going to try to find a really big turbo snail, and see how that goes. Hopefully in the next few days, as I'm off from work for a couple weeks I'll let you know!

If you have a SW lighted macroalgae refugium with passive return to the display tank, the 'pods generated there will help scavenge the tank until or unless consumed.

Thanks rtr, I'll have to look into that, I dont plan on making a sw setup till I have a job again so any and all ideas will be heavily investigated and learned

Macroalgae refugia are the icing on the FOWLR + skimmer cake for SW tanks. Too bad we cannot do FW or BW nearly as well as that.

Ok, to Meisterkiyoh, I decided against a turbo snail, I'm just too sure my GSP will bother/kill it. Today, bought 2 cheaper crab things that clean algea, can't remember what they are called, and one red legged crab. Got them all at PetCo and spent $8.00. So far my puffer has spotted all of them, made attempts, bit their shell but has moved on. I hope they make it. They were so busy cleaning my rock, and minding their own business. At least now they are aware there is a predator in the tank. Hopefully they'll be on the look out
