Stew-pid question...re cooked food for puffers

Post by Master of Puffers »

During my lurker-dom and beyond, I keep reading "don't feed cooked for human food" to the gods of pufferness.

Is there a reason why? I've never fed anything other than raw food to my masters.

Young minion. Your masters stomachs are of pure nature and weren't contaminated with the un natural tolerance of fire bathed food. They cannot digest food of hethens as you so delightfully devour with ease. Likewise goes to you. After many generations of sinfully bathing your food with fire, you cannot tolerate the holiness of natural raw food in your blasphemous innards for your stool may be your death.

To add to that, people talk about feeding crab (not live) to their puffers. However, you can't purchase crab that has not been cooked, so that leaves only live crab. I don't think people realize that all crab is cooked if you buy it in a store. I did give that to my GSP on two occassions, and he did fine, but I'm a bit afraid to do it much more. Does anyone know why people say you can feed frozen crab??

He does like it :) But he likes pretty much everything. lol!

I buy live and freeze it.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
