my puffer color is good in a sense that her tummy is white and she always looks happy. Water conditions are stable and good, so is her temp. Besides maybe being bored, she seems perfectly happy. But she isn't so green, as much as I would say yellow. My lighting is the same cover and light the aquarium came with. I donno but she my lil yellow spotted puffer now. Could there be something wrong? Is this top yellow changing to yellow a sign of problems?
If you have GSP - their colours can really vary - and depending on the kind of light you have - you could indeed have a GSP that looks on the yellowish side.
Nothing wrong with that. All puffers are individuals.
I believe that the "green" in the common name is in reference to the green cap on the fish's head, which is a species characteristic for these fish. Body color between the spots is highly variable with mood and lighting/setup.
