Fahaka Tail hump not completely grown

Post by fahakaha »

I notice with other Fahaka's the tail hump is completely grown and fans out into the tail. On mine, the one side looks like a hump with no tail part growing from it. I wanted to see if this is a natural growth or something else. He's 10 inches so I would assume the tail would be full and complete.

I assume your fahaka is under 1 year old? They do not hit maturity until about 18 months old or more, there may be irregularities until then in colour etc. keep an eye on him. What size tank does he live In?
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
