Porcupine Puffer Care?

Post by Aquariuman »

I want to get my dad a porcupine puffer for his 100 gallon saltwater setup. He has it set up and cycled. It has 2 clownfish, 1 engineer goby, and 1 damsel. Will it be okay in here or will it have conflicts with the other fish? Also, what could I feed it so its teeth won't overgrow?

I may be getting it today so I need quick responses! Thanks!

Porkys are considered to be more docile with other fish. But it is hit and miss. Just depends on the personality and living environment of the puffer. Some have had success keeping them with other fish while others wind up munching on tankmates in the night. Its a pure gamble.

As for food the same rules apply as with any other puffer. A heavy diet of shellfish and snails.
WARNING: Puffers are mischievous little blimps with enchanting powers. You may not be content with having just one.
