I'm not touching PP's comment. ;)

Live rock requires full marine conditions, so technically specific gravity 1.021 - 1.025

If you give us the label on the end of the tubes, we can translate that for you.

Thanks!!

Yes if Home Depot do a wide range of colour temperatures, you just have to order the colour temperature (Kelvin) that you want. I use an electrical wholesaler for my tank lights, I use 6,000K which is approximately daylight (though colour temperature does shift throughout the day) and the plants in my Figure 8 tank grow just as well as they did with the expensive ones from the LFS.

Gwen, If you have a Menard's in NM they have a huge selection of tubes...Much larger than HD or Lowes.
There are many knowledgeable fish keepers on this forum willing to help and give great advice...The advice is free; What you choose to do with it gives it value.

Have no Menards, but found a guy on CL who I was able to buy the exact lights (used to some extent) for $5.00 each.

"Used" fluorescents are not likely to be worth buying. They have limited lifespans in most fixtures.

DFS is having a bulb sale right now. Salt, too.
