So, as I decide what type of equipment I need if I go full marine or not, I'm wanting to know if the reason for going full marine with a GSP is for the long term savings cost? If you have live rock, I'm assuming you can only keep it that way in full marine, correct? Is the general rule for one GSP in a 55 gallon a 20% weekly WC with full marine and a 50% WC with brackish? Does anyone do less water changes than that in a marine tank? Is full marine really better for the fish, and are they actually found in the ocean as adults?

Gsp travel through all sorts of salinities throughout their lives. People on this forum keep them in marine conditions to save money over the lifetime of the puffer. It does need to be full marine for live rock. Waterchanges will be dramatically reduced thus saving money. This is based on a system with a refugium if I am not mistaken.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly
