Feeding my SAPs

Hi.

I bought 2 SAPs on Monday and when I bought them, I also bought some feeder shrimp. In the middle of the week, I tried feeding them a prawn in shell but they didn't show any interest which I figured was due to them not being hungry. When I checked yesterday there were only a few shrimp left, so I fed them half a cube of frozen bloodworm which wasn't finished entirely. Today I tried feeding them an unshelled mussel, but they didn't seem interested. In fact the shrimps started eating it and one of the SAPs started hunting the shrimp and probably ate one or two of them. I have also just started a 4gal breeder tank with 10 ramshorn snails, so hopefully I will have my own snails to feed them in a month's time.

I have 4 questions.

1) Are MTS really a no-no for my puffers? Will they really break their teeth as I have seen ads people selling them as food for puffers?

2) What sized ramshorn snails should I feed my SAPs if they are about 2" long?

3) How many ramshorn snails do I feed them at a go? Or do I just chuck in a bunch and forget about them?

4) I have tried feeding them prawn in shell as well as the unshelled mussel, but they showed no interest as I believe they have been keeping themselves occupied hunting feeder shrimp. Once the shrimp run out will they be more open to trying other foods and will they prefer snails over shrimp?

Snails should be the size of the puffers eye, put some in for them to eat straight away, then toss in some when the tanks dark so they must hunt. Mts are no gos

MTS are not for SAPs. That cone shell is too hard for their incisors.
