gsp living together

Hello all puffer lovers
I am very new to your forum which i must add is fantastic reading and very helpful.
But i do have one problem . I have 5 GSP all of different sizes ranging from 1 inch to 6 inch all in the same tank.
I do have a very large tank with many hiding places with bogwood , coral and plants . I have merne sand on the bottom
My water is brachish and by all account a perfect set up for GSP as all have pure white bellys and a stunning green top and all are very active and seem very happy.
My problem is that all i read is that they cannot live togeather and will fight when get to maturity
2 of mine are at maturity and the other 3 are alot smaller
All my GSP sleep together, eat togeather and even the bigger GSP break up the snails so the smaller ones can eat them
its like they are a family
I check them daily for any signs of nipping and have never seen anything.
are my puffers normal ???
They have been together for sometime now without a problem and swim in a sholl , always together
The babies follow the adult eveywhere they go
everything i read contradict what my puffers do
am i the only one with abnormal puffers?
Also i have 5 Neon Tetras which i was going to move due to the brackish waters and the GSP but after more than 6 months in the tank with them they are growing active and swin with my puffers they even do the up and down the tank dance with them
My adult GSP could easy eat them but dont . infact they eat right next to them
can anyone comemt on this please
Im not new to keeping these fish and was prepared to move them but as of yet i have had no need

Gsp can often co-exist with each other if you give them enough space, we recommend about 30g each. I would remove the neons as its not fair on them. Welcome to the forum, where bouts are you in sunny England?

How big is the tank? Is it heavily decorated with lots of broken lines of sight?
GSPs can usually co-habitate, if these things are done but you can always wind up with a rouge puffer that will need to be separated.

Yes very large and many hiding places
But they still stay together
My brother has had gsp for 6 years and for the last 5 years has had them in the same tank and again no problem
My apologies he has tryed to post comments under my name
I will not let him do this again
I do believe in what he says as he has kept them for so long
He lives a long way from me and I haven't been up his way for over 8 years
When he came down and saw my tank he laugh and said how a like we are
Just came back from seeing his puffer
900 miles round trip just to see them but well worth it
How we are alike but just never new
As he said like us all fish are diffent
Some get on some don't
Lucky for me mine do
But as always will check them and move them if have any problem
Live my puffer and would never want anything to happen to them
My neons have gone
Thinking about done archer fish for tank mate as getting even bigger tank soon

Thats 110 g you can have max 4 gsp in there, after displacement 3 is realistic.

How big is your tank
My puffers look lost in my tank they have so much room in there at the moment
Only 2 are at full size about 6in
The other 3 are only about 1-2in
I have no other fish in there
I understand what you say but no need yet
Do you have gsp if so how long have you kept them for
And how many do you have

I kept 2 6" adults in a 55g for 10 years but finally re-homed them, because there wasn't enough room for them in there. Imagine 6 Nerf footballs swimming in your tank, chock full of decor.

Just want to add yes this is the best puffer site and I do respect what your doing
Puffers are mostly bought because they are cute and good to look at
Most of mine have been taken from other peoples tanks because they have no clue how to look after them
And sites like this help so much
I wish more people took the time to look at your site before they think about buying puffers
I do have some anger problems and open my gob before I think

You are doing a grate job your website is helping the puffers have a better life
I do get a little stressed but I love my puffer
Sometime more than my wife lol
