Bumblebee Gobies Cave Size ?
I'm creating some caves and structures for some Bumblebee Gobies (which I plan to get soon), using slate tiles.
How big, or small of a cave do they need? For how small they are, the caves that I'm making are about 1" wide x 1.5" deep x 1" high.
I'm not sure if they need it close to how small they are, or if they need it bigger.
The attached picture is what I have so far... still messing with it.

They should do just fine
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

What are you using as an adhesive, or what would be safe to use? Looks like something easy and cheap to do.

Aquarium safe clear 100% Silicone.Gooburz wrote:What are you using as an adhesive, or what would be safe to use? Looks like something easy and cheap to do.
Tube cost about $10, really cheap caulk gun was $2-$3. The slate tiles were $7-$8 for 5 or 6 slate tiles.
I think I could've made 1 more big one, and 1 medium size, and several smaller ones with the left over materials.
For size reference, this is in my 30 gallon long tank (36" long, 18" high, 12" deep).

If you are close enough, I can just give you some of the tiles and you can make your own. It's just stacking and gluing it together.

You're so crafty!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

That looks amazing! I think i'll have to make one of those! I know Lowes will have everything that i'll need to do that. Just gotta make sure i wash/rinse the slate tiles really well before using the silicone and putting them into the tank. How many tiles did it take you to make that one? (rough guestimate)

And before you glue it together, it would be better if you sand it with medium grit to get rid of the sharp edges and just to smooth it out.
